About Michael
The discipline to push you further. The patience to meet you where you are.
Michael Ibbott's journey to personal training is far from ordinary. Born in Watford, Hertfordshire, he went on to serve as an infantry soldier with the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment - an experience that gave him an unshakeable understanding of what the human body and mind are capable of when pointed in the right direction. That same quiet determination runs through everything he does today.
Before fitness became his profession, Michael spent years working as a head chef - another world built on discipline, precision and the ability to stay calm under pressure. It's a combination of backgrounds that makes him a rare kind of trainer: someone who understands hard work and high standards, but never loses sight of the person in front of him.
Now based in Scotland, Michael is a Cimpsa Level 4 qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach with additional qualifications in delivering online personal training. He is currently working towards Cimpsa Level 4 Diploma in food nutrition and Cimpsa Level 3 Diploma in exercise referral - making him one of the most thoroughly qualified independent personal trainers in the area.
His motto is simple: mindset matters. But for Michael, that doesn't mean shouting louder or pushing harder. It means helping each client find their own reasons to show up, stay consistent and believe in what they're working towards - whether that's competing at the next level or simply walking into a gym without feeling out of place.
Outside the gym, Michael is happiest in the hills. He's a passionate trail and hill runner, competes in hill running events and runs with the Strathearn Harriers. An enthusiastic munro bagger, he has a deep love for the Scottish outdoors and the quiet resilience it takes to keep going when the summit feels far away. It's a feeling he recognises in his clients every day.
Michael works with people of all ages, backgrounds and fitness levels - from those chasing serious performance goals to those taking their very first steps into fitness. Whatever brings you through the door, you'll be met with patience, respect and a trainer who is genuinely invested in seeing you succeed.
